What a fun bedroom design this was. Some of my favourite rooms to style are kids bedrooms (& I think I'm a bit of an expert having three of them to satisfy)! You can have so much fun with bright colour palettes, prints and accessories and they usually have a very sure idea of what they do and don't like which makes my job much easier. Brief: Ocean inspired, calming room for a beachside living seven year old. Pain Points: A first time solo bedroom for this little girl, the parents wanted a room to make her feel calm yet excited about having her own space. She was also upgrading to a double bed which was a big step that needed to be celebrated. Solution: We chose this gorgeous print by MIlly & Mae Design as the focal point of the bedroom. We suggested a calming, oceanic, pastel green for the wall colour and the beautiful bedhead (which reminded us of a whale's mouth underside) to ensure her new bed felt like a princess's sleeping place. Pastels and colour pops were added throughout to continue the fun, youthful feeling of this room.
