This is the second room for a repeat client (we are doing a room by room, complete home makeover together). This is the sitting room, which leads out to a terrace. It felt quite dark with heavy light fittings and furniture and the terrace space was just not utilised enough as the styling did not lead the visitor towards the outdoor space.
Brief: Colour palette based off the chosen artwork (pictured) with lots of natural tones and light added.
Pain points: Dark, heavy furniture, Terrace underutilised, space not being used to full potential.
Solution: Light coloured furniture and lightweight pendants, coupled with natural tones of timber and the white patterned sisal rug. The rug was placed portrait style to lead the visitor towards the bifold doors to the outside. Sheer curtains were added to create a diffused light while still allowing the terrace to be visible. The colours of the artwork were picked up in the cushions and leather and timber elements used (with subtle touches of copper for a luxe look).
