I absolutely love the way this room came together. The wall mural from @gingermonkey_ is actually meant for a nursery but it’s so standout and sophisticated I think it could be used anywhere. I’ve based my design around this piece, along with the feature couch and I think I’ve definitely nailed the luxe, French, feminine with ‘a touch of boho’ brief I was given. See below for the 'In Real Life' pics of this one too (styled by our client using our step-by-step guide! Brief: Luxurious, French, feminine, relaxing and welcoming room with ‘a touch of boho’. Pain Points: Boring, bland unit lounge-room lacking in personality. Solution: Muted pinks, apricots, greens along with touches of copper and luxurious textures used throughout to promote a calm and feminine feel while also giving that luxury, classy, Hepburn vibe. Such a classy lady of a room!

A coastal bedroom for a cool, classy tween. Honestly, today’s kids are so sophisticated by the time they reach ten, aren't they? When I was 11 I was riding my purple bicycle with handlebar streamers and spokey-dokes through paddocks and down to the local lolly shop to stock up on candy bracelets. You could usually find me making Milos with an 80:20 Milo to milk ratio, eating Tomato Sauce Samboys and watching Agro’s Cartoon Connection as long as I wasn’t duct-taped to the power pole out the front of our house by my older brother or swinging by my knees in our backyard mango tree. Tween wasn’t even a word because we didn’t need it. We were kids through and through until at least fourteen. These days kids know about style and aesthetics, dressing like they’re always ready for a photoshoot, and definitely know what they DO and DON'T like. For this laidback look we chose Hawaiian inspired wallpaper and print from Boho Art & Styling and used lots of beautiful rattan and cane to give that cool, vintage surfer vibe that would grow with this coastal girl well into her late teens. This was a massive hit with this sophisticated tweeny! |
