Another tablescape we created for Gathar. Again, found foliage (olive tree branches from my Aunt's garden) is the. star, along with produce bought from the local market. To create a rustic look I used a linen style table runner with lengths of brown craft paper running across the table as placemats. The olive branches were laid along the length of the table as a natural centrepiece with the produce pieces (pears, figs, cheese, bread and cured sausage) presented in bowls and on wooden. platters. The addition of a beautiful brass candelabra, a french, bohemian bottle of wine and metal pitcher filled with dried lavender added to the provincial style. The look was. finished off with simple place setting pieces created from a sprig of rosemary and a quill of cinnamon, tied with twine. Bon Appetit!

We created a Tropical Tablescape Tutorial for Gathar. This one was super easy, using fresh produce from the market and palm fronds from my garden. The process is pretty easy to follow via the images below but step-by-step it went like this... Step 1: Gather your tropical goods! I used pineapples and dragon fruit (from the grocer) as well as palm leaves and bird of paradise flowers (from my garden). You could use limes, coconuts, bananas, whatever you like really, as long as it is vaguely tropical!
Step 2: Lay the palm fronds along the length of the table as the centrepiece base. I used very young fronds as they are thin and pliable, meaning they were easily weighted down and didn't twist the wrong way. Place your tropical fruit at intervals along the length of the fronds. Step 3: Add some tropical flowers or more palm fronds (something with a bit of colour works well) into two or three vases along the length of the centrepiece. Step 4: Set each place setting with crockery and cutlery of your choice. A colour that ties in with one of your centrepiece colours would work beautifully. A natural fibre (like sisal) placemat would work well here too. Step 5: Finish with tropical style napkins, a tropical flower or leaf on each plate and a yummy cocktail on the side! Relax and enjoy the laidback island vibes! |
