Hi, I'm Leaha (pronounced just like the normal Leah, just with an extra, useless 'a'. Thanks Mum)! I'm a mother of three and I totally understand how crazy life can get, which is exactly why I created Sisu Styling. As busy mothers or small business owners we want a stylish space, but one that’s also functional for the kids and our needs. Sometimes it feels like your identity can become lost during this hectic life period of tending to everyone else's requirements before your own and you just want your home or your special event to represent ‘you’! I so get where you're coming from and know Sisu can help find your sanity-saving, styling solution.
You see, styling for me isn’t just a passion, it’s my career. I've spent years working as a designer and qualified project management specialist for large corporations. I have planned and coordinated many large and small events Australia wide. When I had my kids, I knew I didn’t want to stop, so launched Sisu Styling - a place that combines everything that I specialise in and love in one place. And the best part? I’m helping people like you. Not big corporations, but every day people like myself, with a busy life, a small business or kids underfoot and no time to even begin thinking about what colour to paint a wall, where to find a great greenery wall or what design vibe is 'on trend'. |
The Finnish term 'Sisu' resonates with me as it's everything I strive for in my character. The reason my clients come back time and time again is because I consistently display the qualities of determination, resilience, hard work, grit and the drive to always get the job done right for them, despite the odds.
There's a broad range of areas in which we can help you find your style, as interior and event styling is just one side of Sisu. Product sourcing and hire is the other half. I’m known by many as the ‘Sourcing Queen’, a title I wear proudly. You know when you find something unique and special to you and it just makes you happy every time you walk past it? I'm sure you know what I'm on about. It's such a nice, fuzzy feeling and also a great way to put the 'you' into your style and make your house a home or your event magically unique. I’m always on the hunt for that special something for a client, whether it's a perfectly aged leather chair to add a touch of character to a modern home, or a set of mismatched bentwood chairs for an intimate wedding party. I'm the Guru of Garage Sales, the Maestro of Marketplace, the Enthusiast of Etsy. I have my fingers in many creative pies throughout Queensland, which means I find the things most people can’t. So if I say I can source it for you, believe me, I will!
